As of 9 am EAT 30 June 2020, a total of 393,305 COVID-19 cases and 9,879 (CFR: 2.5%) deaths have been reported in 54 African countries. This is 3.9% of all cases reported globally. Since the last brief (23 June 2020), 77,895 new COVID-19 cases have been reported, which is a 25% increase compared to the 23 June 2020 report. The proportion of new COVID-19 cases reported by region is as follows: Southern region 56.4% (43,917), Northern region 19.6% (15,254), Western region 14.5% (11,284),Eastern region 5.6% (4,367) and Central region 3.9% (3,073). The highest number of new COVID-19 cases reported in a single day was recorded on 28 June 2020 with 12,650 new COVID-19 cases reported.
