Description

This brief provides an overview of; OPD attendance, notifiable diseases, other diseases of public health interest and causes of death.OPD attendance,maternal and neonatal deaths increased during the week. There was an increase in both malaria cases and deaths compared to the previous week (week 17) , there was decrease in the number of Measles and Severe Acute Respiratory Infection cases while New & Relapse TB cases increased. The reporting rate was 77.8%.The number of people who visited the OPD increased by 13%. (702,335 in week 18 Vs 619,331 in week 17). Ninety-two percent of the patients were new.During the week, 19 maternal deaths were reported, which is higher than the number reported in week 17. 6/19 of the deaths were reported in Kampala. Bushenyi, Butambala, Gulu, Kasese, Kiryandongo, Lamwo, and Masaka districts each reported two deaths, whereas Bushenyi, Butambala, Gulu, Kasese, Kiryandongo, Lamwo, and Masaka Districts each reported one maternal death.
