We are pleased to share our 49th weekly epidemiological bulletin for the year 2020. This epidemiological bulletin serves to inform all stakeholders at district, national, and global levels on disease trends, public health surveillance and interventions undertaken in detecting, preventing and responding to public health events in Uganda on a weekly basis.A total of 17 AFP cases was reported during week 49� Amudat 1, Buteleja 1, Kaabong 1, Kagadi 1, Kalungu 1, Kassanda 1, Katakwi 1, Kazo 1, Koboko 1, Moroto 1, Mukono 1, Nabilatuk 1, Nakasese 2 and Ntungamo 3 . The Non-polio AFP rate is 1.76/100,000 children 0 - 14 years compared with 2.74/100,000 children 0 -14 years in 2019 The adequate samples collection rate is 91.86% compared with 90.42% in 2019� NPENT rate is 12.17% compared with NPENT rate of 15.27% in 2019� Two formally silent districts (Amudat and Kalungu) have joined the set of districts which have detected and investigated at least one AFP case in the year 2020 Silent districts; Agago, Amolatar, Alebtong, Busia, Jinja, Kitagwenda, Kamuli, Kyankwanzi, Madi Okollo, and Rubanda
