This is the second HRH audit report that is intended to provide the Health Sector with up to date information on the current staffing in the public health sector. The available information was compiled between July and December 2010 and indicates that nationally, the proportion of approved positions filled by health workers was 56%, leaving a vacancy rate of 44%. On the other hand, the proportion of filled approved positions in the districts was 48% with a vacancy rate of 52% across all the districts. (We note that there has been an increase of districts and in some cases health facilities have increased without corresponding increase in human resources for health)
